Today Prime Minister Trudeau made a small change to the roles held by his roster of Cabinet Ministers. Hon. Filomena Tassi has switched roles with Hon. Helena Jaczek, moving from the Minister of Public Services and Procurement to Minister of the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.

ECCC Releases Proposed Frame for the Clean Electricity Regulations
On Tuesday, July 26th, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) released a discussion paper titled Proposed Frame for the Clean Electricity Regulations (“the discussion paper”), which outlines the conceptual framework for a regulatory mechanism, the Clean Electricity Regulation (CER), that will drive Canada towards a net-zero electricity grid by 2035.
Canada launches two consultations on plastic recyclability, compostability, and tracking
This morning, the Hon. Steven Guilbeault, Canada’s Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, announced the next steps in the federal government’s plan to achieve zero plastic waste by 2030. Minister Guilbeault launched two new consultations that will inform how the government will reduce plastic waste and pollution.
Government of Canada Publishes Final Clean Fuel Regulations
On July 6th, the final version of the federal Clean Fuel Regulations and the Regulatory Impact Analysis Statement were published in Canada Gazette, Part II (CG II). The Regulations are made under the Fuels Division in Part 7 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999.
