As a Senior Associate in the Municipal Affairs Practice, Lauren actively supports clients across industries with a focus on regulated sectors such as energy, waste management, transportation, and signage. Her strategic analysis work, including recommended next steps and pathways to success, is a valuable asset to clients looking to understand the political risks and opportunities for specific initiatives. She also manages client advocacy engagements, navigates permitting approvals, and conducts stakeholder mapping exercises to assist clients with deliverables so projects can move forward. Using her honed skillset in research due diligence and her understanding of municipal processes, Lauren develops approaches and finds solutions for initiatives that have become tied up in government processes. Lauren forecasts key and emerging trends across a wide range of industries as they arise to tailor client objectives, ensuring they are aligned with government policies.
Prior to Sussex, Lauren worked in the private sector, where she was responsible for strategic decision-making and operations for a successful private CPG distributor. She led many successful company strategy projects, implemented insightful solutions, and built lasting relationships with customers and suppliers.
Lauren is active in her community and has volunteered for numerous political campaigns at all levels of government. Lauren stays up to date on the latest licensing and regulatory issues, transit and infrastructure projects, and recycling and waste management matters, and enjoys collaborating with clients, public office holders and staff alike.
Lauren holds an Honours BA in Criminology and Biology from the Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies at the University of Toronto.
