Bruno Jesus is a seasoned expert in the energy industry, bringing over 35 years of extensive experience to Sussex. His profound knowledge and expertise play a crucial role in supporting clients, particularly in navigating and advancing projects within Ontario's energy sectors.

Prior to Sussex, Bruno spent his entire career at Hydro One, serving in various roles. Most recently, he was the Vice President of Planning at Hydro One, where he was responsible for strategy development, asset management, and planning of the transmission and distribution systems across the Province of Ontario.

Bruno leverages his industry insights and background to provide strategic guidance and support to clients. His contributions are instrumental in driving forward client projects, ensuring they are well-positioned within Ontario's dynamic energy landscape.  

He has successfully secured the required Network transmission facilities in Sault Ste. Marie area to support electric arc furnace manufacturing for a large steel company in Northern Ontario and has worked with government and the IESO to secure for Hydro One the five priority transmission projects in Southwestern Ontario to meet rapidly growing electricity demand in the agriculture and automotive (electric vehicle) industries.  

Bruno has also delivered the first ever and largest 5-year (2023-27) joint rates application settlement with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) for the Transmission and Distribution systems in the history of Hydro One.  

Bruno holds his B.A.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and is currently a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.

Outside of work, Bruno enjoys travelling, cottaging on Lake Simcoe and spending time with family.
