Lena Gahwi specializes in digital strategy, and public engagement, turning insights into stories that move people and data into campaigns that deliver results.
At Sussex, Lena leads digital strategies that help organizations reach and activate their audiences. Her work spans creative direction, audience targeting, analytics, and optimization, delivering growth in engagement and real-world participation. She also supports issue-based campaigns that build trust and help shape policy outcomes.
Before joining Sussex, Lena led national digital programs for the federal and Ontario New Democratic Parties, building teams and systems that reached and mobilized millions of Canadians. Her experience includes digital advertising, campaign strategy, and community engagement, grounded in a deep understanding of public affairs and government relations.
Lena holds a Master of International Public Policy from the Balsillie School of International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Gender Studies from Western University.
Outside of work, Lena loves exploring Toronto’s food scene, spending time with her husky Zuko, and reading delightfully terrible novels.
