Paul is the Executive Chairman and Founder of Sussex Strategy Group. He brings a track record of proven success in strategic consulting based on direct government experience and his relationship-building expertise.
In 1990, as President of HealthWatch, Paul began providing strategic consulting services to clients in the public and private sectors on a wide variety of business, government relations and public affairs matters.
Paul’s expertise in issues management, crisis communications and stakeholder relations were called upon to serve as Senior Advisor to Art Eggleton in his position as President of the Treasury Board and then as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. At Queen’s Park, Paul was the Executive Assistant to Health Minister Elinor Caplan in the government of Premier David Peterson.
Subsequent to his tenure at the federal level, Paul founded Sussex in 1998.
Paul is the immediate past Chair for the Board of Reach for the Rainbow, an organization that develops integrated opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities across Ontario. Paul currently serves on the Campaign Cabinet for the new Vaughan hospital, and sits on the Board of Directors for CHAR Technologies. He is recognized as an active community leader advocating for numerous non-profit and charitable causes. Often interviewed for his insights into current government issues, Paul has been a political commentator on CP24.
