ABOUT
As the Office and Client Coordinator Summer Intern at Sussex, Tristynn brings a strong foundation in politics, international relations, and public policy, alongside a deep passion for governance, diplomacy, and multilateral engagement.
Currently pursuing an Honours Specialization in Politics and International Relations with a Certificate in Law and Public Policy at Western University (King’s University College), Tristynn is driven by a desire to work at the intersection of international affairs, advocacy, and peace and security. She hopes to pursue a master’s degree in international relations or political science following her undergraduate studies.
Tristynn recently traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where she conducted policy research with diplomats, ambassadors, and senior representatives from the United Nations, the African Union, the Canadian Embassy, the European Union Delegation to Africa, and various international think tanks. Her research focused on analyzing Canada’s Africa Strategy and the role of multilateral diplomacy in advancing peacebuilding efforts—specifically through initiatives such as the Canada-AU High-Level Dialogue and the Silencing the Guns campaign.
Prior to joining Sussex, Tristynn worked with the City of Guelph, where she gained valuable experience in municipal governance and public service delivery. In this role, she led a small team to ensure community-facing initiatives were implemented efficiently and effectively to support public safety. Her background also includes customer service and brand ambassadorship, showcasing strong communication and client-facing skills.
Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Tristynn competed internationally in elite cheerleading and is a member of Western’s All-Girl Premier Cheerleading Team, which won the 2024 National Championship title. In her spare time, she enjoys music, cooking, road trips, and spending time with her family, friends, and her cat.
