IESO Appoints Lesley Gallinger as President and CEO

Earlier today the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) appointed Lesley Gallinger as its new President and CEO, effective May 25, 2021. Ms. Gallinger will replace Terry Young, who as been Interim President and CEO since the departure of Peter Gregg last fall.

Ms. Gallinger is certainly well known in the Ontario energy community. She has head Elexicon Energy as its inaugural President and CEO following the successful merger of Veridian Connections and Whitby Hydro. A results-oriented executive with a demonstrated history in the energy industry, she has considerable experience in strategic planning, management, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership.

Ms. Gallinger previously served in multiple roles at the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), including as its Chief Strategy and Financial Officer, as well as Vice President, Corporate and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Financial Office at Oakville Hydro Corporation. She serves on the Board of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), on the Board of Axis Auto Finance, and is Chair and Trustee of pension plan Blue Pier. She has also served on the Board of the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC), Plexxus and the Water Technology Acceleration Project (WaterTAP).

We congratulate Ms. Gallinger on her appointment and look forward to working with her at the IESO.
